To My Friend Christie,

Christie, your company, it was always unwanted. I have known this since we met. Why I have never mentioned this to you, I do not know. I see it in one of two ways, either my cowardice, or my fear of destroying what small amount of strength you might have. The last thing I wish to do to anyone is attack their weaknesses, and the lack of mental strength you have is quite the weakness. But I must say, over the last few years, I have tried to recall a time I enjoyed your presence, and I have failed all these years.

Sincerely, your friend,

              Henry Plaines
